The director of the State Statistical Office, Mr. Apostol Simovski held a working meeting with the Ambassador of France, H . E . Cyril Baumgartner , which discussed the forthcoming Census of population, households and dwellings 2021. The ambassador was interested to know about the preparations for the Census, and how will the entire operation run on the ground, because it is of utmost importance for the country. The director informed him about the whole course of the activities and the stage of the preparations. The census methodology is expected to be published by the end of this week and it will be presented to the public at a press conference.
Also, the meeting discussed the method of enumeration and data bases data that will be used in the Census. The director of the State Statistical Office also informed that a special application for self-enumeration of Macedonian citizens living abroad for more than 12 months is envisaged, and it will be available from March 1 to April 21.
The meeting with the Ambassador of France passed in a positive atmosphere, and the Ambassador expressed his confidence in the maximum readiness and commitment of the State Statistical Office to prepare and conduct a Census of population, households and dwellings, 2021, and also highlighted his support for this whole process and expressed a desire for further cooperation between the Embassy of France and the State Statistical Office.
