The internal kick-off and start up meeting of the Twinning Project “Support to the State Statistical Office for capacity building and improving compliance of statistics with EU standards” was held on the 11.11.2016. The project is funded by EU and it is implemented jointly by the State Statistical Office of the Republic of Macedonia, the Consortium of the National Institute for Statistics of Italy, as the Lead Member State Partner, and the State Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia, as the Junior Member State Partner.
The implementation period of the project started on the 17th of October with the installation of the Resident Twinning Advisor (RTA). The meeting was held in order to agree on the method of work to be adopted for a smooth and effective implementation of the project. The Director General of the SSO (Project Leader of the BC), MS. Lidija Kostovska, participated to the meeting together with the Deputy Director General Dejan Stankov), the component leaders, the members of the IPA operating structure and the RTA counterpart (Sladzana Shavkuloska), all from SSO; the Monitoring Officer from CFCD (Blagica Atanasova); the RTA (Donatella Zindato), the RTA assistant (Marija Janakievska Milosevski).
The RTA recalled the main objectives and expected results of the project and presented the approach of the Consortium for its implementation (including the organizational chart of the MS team and the project management cycle). The meeting was also the occasion for agreeing on the main practical issues regarding the implementation of experts’ missions.
At the end of the meeting it was said that for the upcoming week there would be a successful start of the project with the first two experts’ missions.
