As part of the cooperation with the Economic Chamber of Macedonia, a presentation of the construction statistics produced by the State Statistical Office was organised today before members of the Association of Civil Construction, Building Materials and Non-Metallic Industries of the Economic Chamber of Macedonia.
The presentation was opened by the Deputy Director of the State Statistical Office, Dejan Stankov MSc, who spoke about the significance and importance of official statistics, which are crucial for decision making, functional market and effective regulation, with particular emphasis on construction statistics and their role in the development of the Macedonian economy.
Experts from the Department for Construction Statistics presented the surveys carried out by the SSO in this area, the data produced, the method of collecting data from business entities in the construction sector, and special emphasis was placed on data use and the availability of data on the website of the SSO and in the MakStat database.
The participants expressed their satisfaction with this type of presentation of the work of the SSO in the area of construction, underlining the mutual relationship that must exist between the State Statistical Office and business entities in order to produce timely, accurate and internationally comparable data.
