On 5 September 2016, in joint organisation of the State Statistical Office and the Delegation of the European Union, Mr. Pieter Everaers, Director of Eurostat’s Directorate for Cooperation in the European Statistical System; International Cooperation; Resources, visited the State Statistical Office and the other participants in the statistical system of the Republic of Macedonia.
At the meeting with the State Statistical Office, Mr. Everaers was met by and held talks with Ms. Lidija Kostovska, Director-General, Mr. Dejan Stankov, Deputy-Director General and the senior management of the various sectors. Discussions were held regarding the progress of Macedonian official statistics in the harmonisation with the statistics of the European Union, as well as the future plans and commitments for further progressive integration of the State Statistical Office in the European Statistical System by strengthening the institution and its coordinating role in national statistical system.
After the meeting with the representatives of the State Statistical Office, Mr. Everaers also had meetings and discussions with the Ministry of Finance, with Mr. Kiril Minoski, Finance Minister, the National Bank, with Mr. Dimitar Bogov, Governor, and Anita Angelovska-Bezhoska, Vice Governor, and the Ministry of Information Society and Administration, with Mr. Timcho Mucunski, Deputy Minister, and it was concluded that the visit was successful and the cooperation continues with increased intensity.
