As part of the cooperation with the United Nations Population Fund, in the period from 12 to 14 November 2018, the State Statistical Office organised meetings with different target groups on the topic Census of Population, Households and Dwellings. During these meetings, Mr. Werner Haug, internationally renowned expert on population censuses, presented the international standards for conducting population censuses, while the Director of the State Statistical Office, Mr. Apostol Simovski, presented the activities undertaken by the SSO regarding the preparations for the forthcoming Census of Population, Households and Dwellings in the Republic of Macedonia.
More specifically, separate meetings were organised with representatives of the media, think tank institutions and non-governmental organisations.
The interest and turnout for these meetings were very good, and the discussions after the presentations were very useful and a good basis for developing further cooperation and discussion.
These meetings are the beginning of the public debate on the upcoming Census of Population, Households and Dwellings in the Republic of Macedonia, 2020.
