On 12 and 13 February 2019, in Luxembourg, at the headquarters of the Statistical Office of the European Union Eurostat, an explanatory meeting on Chapter 18 Statistics was held as part of the screening process for the start of the accession negotiations with the European Union. The delegation led by the chief technical negotiator of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Bojan Maricic, and the Director of the State Statistical Office, Mr. Apostol Simovski, during the two-day meeting had the opportunity to hear all the necessary elements whose fulfillment is a necessary condition for setting up the negotiating positions of the Republic of Macedonia in relation to Chapter 18 - Statistics. Representatives from the State Statistical Office, as well as representatives of the institutions that are part of the National Statistical System of the Republic of Macedonia, took part in the delegation.
