The State Statistical Office and the partners - the Italian Institute of Statistics and the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia today marked the completion of the 20-month twinning project "Support to the State Statistical Office in capacity building and improvement of the compliance of statistics with EU standards " funded by the European Union.
In the presence of numerous guests from the institutions – holders of the statistical system, representatives of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia, a large number of statistical experts from the partner countries in the Project, as well as employees of the State Statistical Office, adresses to the attendees had the EU Ambassador to the Republic of Macedonia , H.E. Mr. Samuel Zbogar and the Ambassador of the Republic of Italy to the Republic of Macedonia, H.E. Mr. Carlo Romeo. They emphasized the importance of this kind of cooperation among the statistical institutes in Europe and the benefits for all participants in this project.
Adresses to the attendees also had the directors of the three statistical institutions - participants in the Project - Mr. Gjorgio Aleva, President of Istat, Mrs. Genovefa Ruzich, Director of the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia and Mr. Apostol Simovski, Director of the State Statistical Office, who were unanimous in the assessment that this was an excellent project that enabled new achievements in the area of statistical researches and at the same time a remarkable experience for all participants in the project.
