On 30 and 31 May 2016, the regular annual mission for evaluation of the State Statistical Office was carried out by Eurostat, in cooperation with the European Commission. Representatives of Eurostat and the EU Delegation to the Republic of Macedonia first had a meeting and discussion with the Director of the SSO. They were informed about the activities of the Office over the last year as well as the future plans for improvement of work processes, enhancement of quality and modernisation of the procedures for collecting and accessing data of the Office. There were also working meetings with employees from all sectors of the Office, who presented in detail their work and achievements towards harmonisation of Macedonian legislation with the EU acquis in statistics. Furthermore, working meetings and discussions were held with other institutions that are part of the statistical system of the Republic of Macedonia, i.e. with representatives of the National Bank of the Republic of Macedonia and the Ministry of Finance.
