Today, the State Statistical Office celebrated a great anniversary - 70 years since its establishment.
The official ceremony organised on this occasion was attended by many admirers and supporters of the Macedonian Statistics. The guests were greeted by Ms. Lidija Kostovska, Director-General of the State Statistical Office, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Macedonia and Minister of Finance, Mr. Zoran Stavreski, and Mrs. Genovefa Ruzic, Director of the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia. The speakers emphasised the role and the importance of statistics for the overall development of the country, and they also complimented the efforts made by the Institution throughout its 70 years of existence which contributed in achieving the status it owns today – as an Institution that is equal member of the European and worldwide statistical family.
