At today's 137th session, the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia set out the draft text of the Law on Census of Population, Households and Dwellings 2020.
The draft text of the Law lays down the methodological bases of the upcoming Census, as well as the organisational and technical details of the largest statistical operation. This Census will be carried out using a so-called combined method, with data from available administrative sources and field data collection. Another novelty in this Census is the use of laptops instead of paper questionnaires, which greatly facilitates the processing and publication of collected data.
The Government has proposed to the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia to pass the Draft Proposal of the Law on Census 2020, which will create conditions to intensify the preparation of this long-awaited Census of Population, Households and Dwellings that, according to the action plan, should be conducted in the period from 1 to 21 April 2020.
