GDP calculation by regions

In 2007, the State Statistical Office intensively worked on building a system of data for obtaining data on value added i.e. GDP by regions. The first experimental data referred to the period 2003-2005.

The gross domestic product, in this concept, is calculated according to the production method. According to this, the value of GDP refers to the produced value added in that region, but not to the incomes and expenditures of the population in that region.

The data are prepared by NTES – Nomenclature of Territorial Units for Statistics, level 3, adopted by the Government of the Republic of Macedonia, that is in accordance with the criteria of the common system of territorial units for statistics in the European Union according to which are developed and prepared the regional data about Europe.
