Census of capacities in catering trade, 2016 - First results

The Census of capacities in catering trade was conducted together with the Census of capacities in retail trade, in the period from
1 to 12 November 2016 on the whole territory of the Republic of Macedonia. The aim of the Census was to obtain data on the
number, type, structure, size, space and the number of employees of the catering trade capacities.
According to the first results, the total number of enumerated catering trade capacities in the Republic of Macedonia is 4 948,
of which 4 378 catering trade capacities-stores and 570 accommodation capacities. The largest concentration of catering trade
capacities is on the territory of the Skopje Region, where the number of enumerated capacities is 1 314 or 26.6% of the total
enumerated capacities on the territory of the Republic of Macedonia. Municipalities with the highest concentration of catering
trade capacities are: Tetovo 10.2%, Centar 7.8%, Kumanovo 5.2%, Gostivar 4.9%, Ohrid 4.8%, Bitola 4.2%, Struga 3.8%, Karposh
3.5%, Chair 3.2% and Prilep 2.9%, making up 50.5% of all catering trade capacities in the Republic of Macedonia.
