Business tendencies in manufacturing industry in October 2021

The managers of the business entities assessed that the confidence indicator in manufacturing industry in October 2021, standing at 14.7, is 0.1 percentage points lower compared to September 2021 and 0.9 percentage points higher compared to October 2020.

The situation with the current volume of production orders in October 2021 is less favourable compared to the previous month, the expectations for the production volume for the next three months are also less favourable, and the stocks of finished goods have decreased.

The estimation of the economic situation is less satisfactory compared to the previous month, but more satisfactory compared to October 2020. The number of employees is expected to increase.

The average capacity utilization level of the business entities in October 2021 increased to 70.9% of normal utilization.

The factors that had the greatest influence on limiting the production volume in October 2021 were: insufficient foreign demand with 20.8%, uncertainty of the economic environment with 13.7%, shortage of skilled labour with 17.4%, and insufficient domestic demand with 12.0%.
