Total Health Expenditures in 2022 decreased by 1.4% compared to 2021

The total current health expenditures in the Republic of North Macedonia in 2022 amounted to 60 567 million denars and decreased

by 1.4% compared to 2021 (61 408 million denars).

In current health expenditures (by appropriate schemes) the biggest decreased compared to the previous year, was recorded for:

- Preventive care by 44.9%.

- Providers of ancillary services by 41.1%.

- Household out-of-pocket payment by 5.0%.

The largest share in the total current health expenditures (by appropriate schemes) have:

- Curative care by 54.8%.

- Hospitals by 38.3%

- Government schemes and compulsory contributory health care financing schemes by 57.0%.
