Active Population in the Republic of Macedonia Results from the Labor Force Survey, 2nd quarter 2011

According to the data of the State Statistical Office, in the II quarter of 2011, the labour force in the Republic of Macedonia numbered 936 256 persons, of which 642 809 or 68.7% were employed, while 293 448 or 31.3% were unemployed persons.

The number of employed persons in the II quarter of 2011, compared to the same period of the previous year, increased by 2.5%.

In comparison with the same period of 2010, the number of unemployed persons decreased by 0.9%.

The activity rate in this period was 56.6, the employment rate was 38.8, while the unemployment rate was 31.3.
