Results from the Labour Force Survey, 1st quarter 2011

According to the data of the State Statistical Offce, in the I quarter of 2011, the labour force in the Republic of Macedonia numbered 944 216 persons, of which 649 575 or 68.8% were employed and 294 641 or 31.2% were unemployed persons.

The number of employed persons in the I quarter of 2011, compared to the same period of the previous year, increased by 5.5%.

In relation to the same period of 2010, the number of unemployed persons decreased by 4.8%.

The activity rate in this period was 57.1, the employment rate was 39.3, whereas the unemployment rate was 31.2.
