According to the State Statistical Office data and the classification of libraries, there are several types of libraries in the Republic of Macedonia, such as: national, libraries within tertiary education institutions, specialised libraries, non-specialised, librariesnational institutions and public (popular) libraries. In 2016, compared with 2013, the number of specialised libraries increased by 13.0%.
The number of other libraries in 2016, compared with 2013, remained at the same level.
