According to the data of the State Statistical Office, in the fourth quarter of 2011, the number of passengers carried in road passenger transport was 4 043 000, in rail transport 355 000, in urban-suburban transport 19 952 000, while the number of passengers carried in air transport was 195 226.
In the same period, in comparison with the fourth quarter of 2010, the quantity of goods carried in freight road transport increased by 6.4%, in air transport by 12.0%, whereas in rail transport it decreased by 1.1%.
