In air transport, the number of passengers carried increased by 10.8% in the first quarter of 2010, compared with the same period of 2009

According to the data of the State Statistical Office, in the first quarter of 2010, compared to the same period of 2009, the number of passengers carried in road passenger transport was 2 892 000, in urban-suburban transport it was 16 720 000, whereas the number of passengers carried in rail transport was 346 000.

In the same period, the quantity of goods carried in freight road transport increased by 32.0%, in rail transport by 7.8%, whereas in air transport it decreased by 22.8%.
