Transport of passengers and goods in the second quarter of 2018

According to the data of the State Statistical Office, in the second quarter of 2018, compared to the same period of 2017, the number of passengers carried in road passenger transport increased by 2.7%, in urban-suburban transport decreased by 16.4%, in air transport increased by 20.7%, whereas the number of passengers carried in rail transport increased by 13.8%. In comparison with the first quarter of 2018, the number of passengers carried in road passenger transport grew by 2.6%, in urbansuburban transport by 4.9%, in rail transport by 12.1%, and in air transport by 32.3%. In the second quarter of 2018, in comparison with the same period of 2018, the quantity of goods carried in freight road transport decreased by 4.4%, in air transport by 7.4%, whereas in rail transport increased by 5.0%. Compared to the first quarter of 2018, the quantity of goods carried in freight road transport increased by 22%, in air transport by 10.9% and in rail transport by 13.4%.
