Transport of passengers and goods in the first quarter of 2018

According to the data of the State Statistical Office, in the first quarter of 2018, compared to the same period of 2017, the number
of passengers carried in road passenger transport increased by 21.7%, in urban-suburban transport decreased by 3.3%, and in air
transport increased by 21.3%, , whereas the number of passengers carried in rail transport increased by 29.4%.
In comparison with the fourth quarter of 2017, the number of passengers carried in road passenger transport increased by 11.0%, in
urban-suburban transport decreased by 5.9%, in rail transport by 7.0%, and in air transport it decreased by 6.7%.
In the first quarter of 2018, in comparison with the same period of 2017, the quantity of goods carried in freight road transport
increased by 20.0%, in rail transport by 40.6%, and in air transport by 10.3%.
Compared to the fourth quarter of 2017, the quantity of goods carried in freight road transport grew by 31.6%, while in rail transport it
dropped by 1.4%, and in air transport by 15.5%.
