Transport of passengers and goods in the first quarter of 2016

According to the data of the State Statistical Office, in the first quarter of 2016, the number of passengers carried in national and
international road passenger transport was 1 698 000, in rail transport 166 000, in urban-suburban transport 19 123 000, while
the number of passengers carried in air transport was 343 541.
In the same period, in comparison with the first quarter of 2015, the quantity of goods carried in freight road transport increased
by 9.3%, in air transport it increased by 35.4%, whereas in rail transport it decreased by 21.4%.
