Illegally built constructions on the territory of the Republic of Macedonia, 2013

According to the data of the State Statistical Office, a total of 1 275 illegally built structures were registered on the territory of the
Republic of Macedonia in 2013.


According to the type, the number of illegally built structures is the following: 247 housing units1) (19.4%); 174 extensions, alterations
and adaptations (13.6%); 108 business buildings (8.5%); 100 garages (7.8%); 201 fences (15.8%); 13 stairs (1.0%); 58 terraces (4.5%).


11 summer terraces (0.9%); 105 canopies (8.2%); 126 temporary structures (9.9%) and 132 auxiliary structures (10.4%).
Most of the illegally built constructions are in private ownership (98.3%).
