Energy balances, 2014

The State Statistical Office (SSO) prepared revision of Energy balances for the period 2005-2014 in order to implement the
new data obtained from the Survey on consumption of energy commodities in households, which was conducted in 2014 for
the first time.
The following documents were used in the process of revision:
- methodological guidance from the Manual for statistics on energy consumption in households, Eurostat
- European standards for energy values by type of energy commodities published in publications of IEA and Manual for
Energy statistics of Eurostat, IEA and OECD and
- the latest changes of the Regulation on energy statistics No 1099/2008.
According to the State Statistical Office data, in 2014, the total primary production of energy in the Republic of Macedonia was
1 329 164 toe or 49.2% of gross inland consumption.
The gross inland consumption of energy for 2014 was 2 700 508 toe.
The biggest final energy consumers in 2014 were: transport with 29.7%, households with 28.3% and industry with 27.7%, (of the
available final consumption).
