Balance of coal by months, 2011 -preliminary data-


According to the State Statistical Office data, in 2011, a total of 301 316 tonnes of Coal were imported in the Republic of Macedonia, of which:
2 146 tonnes of Hard Coal (Anthracite, Coking Coal, Other Bituminous Coal), 257 179 tonnes of Lignite (Sub-Bituminous Coal, Brown Coal,
Lignite, Peat), and 41 991 tonnes of Coke Oven Coke.
The total primary production of Lignite in 2011 was 8 208 803 tonnes.
The gross inland consumption of Lignite was 8 028 251 tonnes, of which 95.97% were used in Public thermal power stations for production
of Electrical energy, 0.35% in Autoproducer thermal power stations for production of Heat and Electrical energy, and 3.68% for Final energy
The biggest final consumers of Coal with 325 902 tonnes were the industrial sectors, as follows: 2 041 tonnes of Hard Coal, 283 112 tonnes of
Lignite and 40 749 tonnes of Coke Oven Coke.
