Balance of coal by months, 2009

According to the State Statistical Offce data, in 2009, a total of 101 528 tonnes of Coal were imported in the Republic of Macedonia, of which: 5 340 tonnes of Hard Coal (Anthracite, Coking Coal, Other Bituminous Coal), 94 313 tonnes of Lignite (Sub-Bituminous Coal, Brown Coal, Lignite, Peat), and 1 875 tonnes of Coke Oven Coke.
The total primary production of Lignite in 2009 was 7 426 052 tonnes.
The gross inland consumption of Lignite was 7 479 870 tonnes, of which 97.69% were used in Public thermal power stations for production of Electrical energy, 0.28% in Autoproducer thermal power stations for production of Heat and Electrical energy, 0.27% in Autoproducer heat plants for production of Heat and 1.76% for Final energy consumption.
The biggest fnal consumers of Coal, with 124 865 tonnes, were the industrial sectors, as follows: 5 340 tonnes of Hard Coal, 117 232 tonnes of Lignite and 2 293 tonnes of Coke Oven Coke.
