Business tendencies in retail trade, second quarter of 2019

The managers of the business entities assessed that the confidence indicator in retail trade in the second quarter of 2019 is 0.2 percentage points lower compared to the previous one, and 0.4 percentage points higher compared to the same quarter of 2018.
The economic situation is less favourable in the second quarter of 2019 compared to the first quarter of 2019, but more favourable compared to the same quarter of 2018. It is expected to be less favourable for the next two quarters. The quantity of the current stocks are on the same level as in the previous quarter.
The financial situation in the second quarter of 2019 is more favourable compared to the previous quarter of 2019. The expectations for the orders for the next period are that they will decrease as well as the number of the employees.
The selling prices in the second quarter of 2019 have increased compared to the previous quarter, and they are also expected to increase in the next three months.
The factors that had the greatest influence on limiting the business situation of the business entities in the second quarter of 2019 were: shortage of competent staff with 21.0% low demand with 20.2%, increased labour expenditures with 18.4% and increased competition with 16.8 %.
