Business tendencies in manufacturing industry in October 2019

The managers of the business entities assessed that the confidence indicator in manufacturing industry in October 2019, standing at 21.8, is 0.1 percentage points higher compared to September 2019 and 1.1 percentage points higher compared to October 2018. The situation with the current volume of production orders in October 2019 is more favourable compared to the previous month, the expectations for the production volume for the next three months are also more favourable, while the stocks of finished goods have increased compared to September 2019. The estimation of the economic situation is more satisfactory compared to the previous month, as well as compared to October 2018. The number of employees is expected to increase. The average capacity utilization level of the business entities in October 2019 increased to 69.7% of normal utilization. The factors that had the greatest influence on limiting the production volume in October 2019 were: shortage of skilled labour with 23.0%, insufficient foreign demand with 17.5%, insufficient domestic demand with 14.7%, and uncertainty of the economic environment with 12.2%.
