Average monthly gross wage paid per employee, February 2018

According to the data of the State Statistical Office, the index of the average monthly gross wage paid per employee in February 2018, compared to February 2017, was 103.4. This increase is caused by the increase of the average monthly gross wage paid per employee in the sectors: Mining and quarrying (12.8%), Manufacturing (11.0%) and Information and communication (10.9%). A decrease in the average monthly gross wage paid per employee compared to the previous month was recorded in the sectors: Arts, entertainment and recreation (22.5%), Transportation and storage (12.0%) and Mining and quarrying (10.8%). The average monthly gross wage paid per employee in February 2018 was 33 994 denars. In January 2018, the State Statistical Office changed the method of collecting data on wages (paper questionnaires with data collected from business entities) and switched to using data from an administrative source - the Public Revenue Office. The change was made in order to reduce the burden on reporting units and improve the quality of the data.
