According to the data of the State Statistical Office, the index of the average monthly net wage paid per employee in January 2017, compared to January 2016, was 102.2.
This increase is caused by the increase of the average monthly net wage paid per employee in the sectors: Information and communication (9.4%), Public administration and defence; compulsory social security (4.6%) and Mining and quarrying (4.2%).
A decrease in the average monthly net wage paid per employee compared to the previous month was recorded in the sectors: Arts, entertainment and recreation (32.2%), Information and communication (13.0%) and Construction (11.7%).
The average monthly net wage paid per employee in January 2017 was 22 750 denars.
In January 2017, 1.0% of the employees in the Republic of Macedonia did not receive any payment.
