According to the State Statistical Office data, the Consumer Price Index, measured by prices of goods and services for
personal consumption, in August 2012, in comparison with July 2012, was 101.5, while in comparison with August
2011 it was 103.7.
Analyzed by main groups of intended use, in August 2012, compared with July 2012, an increase of indices has been
registered in the groups: Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels by 5.9%, Transport by 3.8%, Health by 1.1%,
Food and non-alcoholic beverages by 0.8%, Miscellaneous goods and services by 0.2% and Restaurants and hotels by
0.1%.
A decrease of the Consumer Price Index was registered in the groups: Recreation and culture by 0.3%, Clothing and
footwear, Furnishings, household equipment and routine maintenance of the house by 0.2% and Alcoholic beverages,
tobacco by 0.1%.
The indices of the groups Communication and Education remained at the same level as in the previous month.
