Consumer Price Index, by COICOP classification, May 2012

According to the State Statistical Office data, the Consumer Price Index, measured by prices of goods and services for
personal consumption, in May 2012, in comparison with April 2012, was 99.7, while in comparison with May 2011 it
was 102.0.
Analyzed by main groups of intended use, in May 2012, compared with April 2012, a decrease of indices has been
registered in the groups: Transport by 1.9%, Communication by 1.0%, Food and non-alcoholic beverages by 0.4%,
Recreation and culture by 0.3%, Alcoholic beverages, tobacco and Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels by
0.1%.
An increase of the Consumer Price Index was registered in the groups: Health by 1.2%, Clothing and footwear by 0.7%,
Furnishings, household equipment and routine maintenance of the house and Miscellaneous goods and services by
0.3% and Restaurants and hotels by 0.2%.
The index of the group Education remained at the same level as in the previous month.
