Consumer Price Index, by COICOP classification, February 2011

According to the State Statistical Office data, the Consumer Price Index, measured by prices of goods and services for personal consumption, in February 2011, in comparison with January 2011, was 100.9, while in comparison with February 2010 it was 103.9.

Analyzed by main groups of intended use, in February 2011, compared with January 2011, an increase has been registered in the groups: Food and non-alcoholic beverages by 2.2%, Health by 0.8%, Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels by 0.4%, Miscellaneous goods and services by 0.3%, Alcoholic beverages, tobacco by 0.2%, Communication and Restaurants and hotels by 0.1%.

A decrease of the Consumer Price Index was registered in the following groups: Recreation and culture by 1.1%, Clothing and footwear and Transport by 0.2%.

The indices of the groups: Furnishings, household equipment and routine maintenance of the house and Education remained at the same level as in the previous month.
