According to the State Statistical Office data, the Consumer Price Index in May 2019, in comparison with the previous month, was 100.5, while the Retail Price Index was 100.4.
The Consumer Price Index in May 2019, in comparison with the previous month, was registered in fresh or chilled fruit by 3.7%, bread by 1.6%, food products n.e.c by 1.1%, cigarettes by 1.0%, bread and cereals by 0.9%, meat by 0.6%, flours and other cereals by 0.5%, frozen vegetables other than potatoes and other tubers, sugar, jam, honey, chocolate and confectionery, alcoholic beverages by 0.3% and oils and fats by 0.2%.
In May 2019, there was also an increase of liquid fuels for household by 5.5%, liquid fuels and lubricants for personal transport equipment, package holidays by 3.7%, footwear by 2.8%, accommodation services by 2.5%, gas for household by 0.7%, carpets and other floor coverings, therapeutic appliances and equipment, books by 0.5%, small electric household appliances, photographic and cinematographic equipment and optical instruments by 0.4%, major household appliances, motor cars by 0.3%, equipment for reception, recording and reproduction of sound and picture, other personal effects n.e.c by 0.2%.
A decrease in the Consumer Price Index in May 2019, in comparison with the previous month, was registered in fresh or chilled vegetables other then potatoes and other tubers by 4.6%, edible offal by 0.9%, dry fruit and nuts by 0.7%, eggs by 0.4%, other bakery products, frozen fish by 0.2%. In May, there was also a decrease of the indices of passenger transport by air by 2.2%, gardens, plants and flowers by 1.3%, information processing equipment by 0.7%, recording media by 0.4%, glassware, tableware and household utensils, other medical products, spare parts and accessories for personal transport equipment by 0.2%.
The Consumer Price Index in May 2019 in comparison with May 2018 increased by 1.4%, while the Retail Price Index increased by 1.0%.
