Consumer Price Index by COICOP and Retail Price Index,
February 2019

According to the State Statistical Office data, the Consumer Price Index in February 2019, in comparison with the previous month, was 100.0, while the Retail Price Index was 99.8. The Consumer Price Index in February 2019, in comparison with the previous month, remained at the same level, but there were movements in the prices in some subgroups. An increase in the Consumer Price Index in February 2019, in comparison with the previous month, was registered in fresh or chilled vegetables other then potatoes and other tubers by 3.4%, fresh or chilled fruit by 3.1%, milk by 1.0%, yoghurt by 0.5%, dried vegetables, other preserved or processed vegetables by 0.4%, breakfast cereals, dried, salted or smoked meat, fish and seafood by 0.3%, bread, cheese and curd, dried fruit and nuts, non-alcoholic beverages by 0.2%. In February 2019, there was also an increase of liquid fuels for household by 6.2%, liquid fuels and lubricants for personal transport equipment by 3.2%, paramedical services by 3.1%, books by 1.7%, motor cars by 0.6%, therapeutic appliances and equipment by 0.4%, furniture and furnishings by 0.3%, household textile, recreational and sporting services, catering services by 0.2%. A decrease in the Consumer Price Index in February 2019, in comparison with the previous month, was registered in other meat preparations, food products n.e.c by 0.6%, eggs, oils and fats by 0.5%, meat, sugar, jam, honey, chocolate and confectionery by 0.3%. In February, there was also a decrease of the indices of passenger transport by air by 10.9%, recording media by 8.9%, package holidays by 3.2%, solid fuels by 3.0%, photographic and cinematographic equipment and optical instruments by 2.4%, telephone and telefax equipment by 1.7%, accommodation services by 1.5%, clothing and footwear by 1.1%, spare parts and accessories for personal transport equipment by 1.0%, carpets and other floor coverings, other personal effects by 0.9%, bicycles by 0.8%, equipment for the reception, recording and reproduction of sound and picture, information processing equipment by 0.7%, cleaning and maintenance products for the dwelling, games, toys and hobbies by 0.6%, water supply by 0.5%, other medical products by 0.3%. The Consumer Price Index in February 2019 in comparison with February 2018 increased by 1.1%, while the Retail Price Index increased by 0.3%.
