Consumer Price Index by COICOP and Retail Price Index, September 2018

According to the State Statistical Office data, the Consumer Price Index in September 2018, in comparison with the previous month,
was 99.9, while the Retail Price Index was 99.3.
A decrease in the Consumer Price Index in September 2018, in comparison with the previous month, was registered in fresh or chilled fruit by 2.0%, food products n.e.c by 0.8%, edible offal by 0.7%, cheese and curd by 0.5%, oils and fats, dried vegetables, other preserved or processed vegetables by 0.4%, dry fruit and nuts by 0.3%, flours and other cereals, frozen vegetables other than potatoes and other tubers by 0.2%.
In September, there was also a decrease of the indices of passenger transport by air by 16.2%, accommodation services by 6.4%,
information processing equipment by 3.0%, paramedical services by 2.4%, bicycles, package holidays by 1.9%, photographic and
cinematographic equipment and optical instruments by 1.2%, equipment for sport, camping and open-air recreation by 1.0%, solid
fuels, games, toys and hobbies by 0.7%, tertiary education by 0.6%, recording media by 0.5%, materials for the maintenance and repair of the dwelling and major electric appliances by 0.2%.
An increase of the Consumer Price Index in September 2018, in comparison with the previous month, was registered in fresh or chilled vegetables other than potatoes and other tubers by 7.4%, frozen fruit by 0.7%, preserved fruit and fruit-based products by 0.6%, fish and seafood by 0.5%, milk by 0.4%, other meat preparation, alcoholic beverages by 0.3% and rice by 0.2%.
In September 2018, there was also an increase of the indices of liquid fuels for household by 2.8%, cleaning and maintenance products of the dwelling by 2.6%, gas for household by 2.0%, liquid fuels and lubricants for personal transport equipment by 1.6%, stationery and drawing materials by 0.6%, household furniture by 0.5%, catering services by 0.4%, telephone and telefax equipment, personal care by 0.3%, carpets and other floor coverings, gardens, plants and flowers by 0.2%.
The Consumer Price Index in September 2018, in comparison with September 2017, increased by 1.5%, while the Retail Price Index increased by 2.6%.
