According to the State Statistical Office data, the Consumer Price Index in December 2017, in comparison with the previous month, was 100.1, while the Retail Price Index was 100.4.
In 2017, in comparison with 2016, the Consumer Price Index increased by 1.4%, while the Retail Price Index increased by 3.2%.
The movement of the Consumer Price Index in 2017 was different by certain groups of consumption.
An increase of indices was registered in the groups: Communication by 8.5%, Alcoholic beverages, tobacco and narcotics by 6.3%,
Transport by 5.5%, Restaurants and hotels by 3.8%, Clothing and footwear, Recreation and culture by 1.0%, Furnishings, household equipment and routine maintenance of the house by 0.5%, Food and non-alcoholic beverages by 0.3%.
A decrease was registered in the groups: Health and Miscellaneous goods and services by 0.6%, Education by 0.3%, Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels by 0.2%.
The movement of the Retail Price Index in 2017 was different by various groups of products as well.
An increase of the indices was registered in the groups: Services by 5.5%, Non-food industrial products by 2.3%, Agricultural products by 0.9% and Food industrial products by 0.8%.
The group Beverages remained at the same level as in the previous year.
The Consumer Price Index in December 2017, in comparison with December 2016, increased by 2.4%, while the Retail Price Index
increased by 4.9%.
The Consumer Price Index in December 2017, in comparison with the previous month, increased by 0.1%.
The increase in the Consumer Price Index, in December 2017, in comparison with the previous month, was a result of the higher indices of potatoes by 1.8%, eggs by 1.0%, cheese and curd, oils and fats by 0.7%, rice by 0.6%, food products n.e.c by 0.4%, edible offal, dried vegetables, other preserved or processed vegetables by 0.2%.
In December 2017, there was also an increase of the indices hospital services by 6.2%, liquid fuels for households by 3.9%, passenger transport by air and package holidays by 2.1%, stationery and drawing materials by 2.0%, liquid fuels and lubricants for personal transport equipment by 1.8%, gas for households, gardens, plants and flowers and accommodation services by 1.2%, cleaning and maintenance products for the dwelling by 0.8%, repair of furniture, furnishings and floor coverings by 0.7%, cultural services by 0.5%, household textiles, recreational and sporting services by 0.4%, solid fuels, glassware, tableware and household utensils, motor cycles, pets and related products and catering services by 0.2%.
A decrease in the Consumer Price Index in December 2017, in comparison with the previous month, was registered in fresh or chilled fruit by 2.0%, flours and other cereals by 0.7%, fish and seafood by 0.5%, fresh or chilled vegetables other than potatoes and other tubers by 0.4%, non-alcoholic beverages by 0.3%, other bakery products, dry fruit and nuts by 0.2%.
In December 2017, there was also a decrease of the indices of photographic and cinematographic equipment and optical instruments by 5.2%, footwear by 1.8%, recording media by 1.3%, repair of audio-visual, photographic and information processing equipment by 1.0%, equipment for sport, camping and open-air recreation by 0.9%, household furniture, information processing equipment by 0.6%, major electric appliances for households by 0.4%, small electric appliances for households, telephone and telefax equipment by 0.2%.
