The Consumer Price Index, by Coicop classification, in May 2010 in comparison with April 2010, decreased by 0.6%

According to the State Statistical Office data, the Consumer Price Index, measured by prices of goods and services for personal consumption, in May 2010, in comparison with April 2010, was 99.4, while in comparison with May 2009, it was 100.2.
Analyzed by main groups of intended use, in May 2010, compared with April 2010, a decrease has been registered in the groups: Food and non alcoholic beverages by 1.6%, Miscellaneous goods and services by 0.8%, Recreation and culture by 0.4%, Alcoholic beverages, tobacco and Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels by 0.1%.
An increase of the Consumer Price Index was registered in the following groups: Transport by 0.7%, Furnishings, household equipment and routine maintenance of the house by 0.5%, Clothing and footwear by 0.3%, Restaurants and hotels by 0.2% and Health by 0.1%.
The indices of the groups: Communication and Education, remained at the same level as in the previous month.
