The Consumer Price Index, by Coicop classification, in March 2010 in comparison with February 2010, increased by 0.5%

According to the State Statistical Office data, the Consumer Price Index, measured by prices of goods and services for personal consumption, in March 2010, in comparison with February 2010, was 100.5, while in comparison with March 2009 it was 100.7.

Analyzed by main groups of intended use, in March 2010, compared with February 2010, an increase has been registered in the groups: Transport by 1.2%, Food and non alcoholic beverages and Recreation and culture by 1.0%, Miscellaneous goods and services by 0.2%, Clothing and footwear and Education by 0.1%.

A decrease of the Consumer Price Index was registered in the following groups: Communication by 0.9%, Health and Restaurants and hotels by 0.4% and Furnishings, household equipment and routine maintenance of the house by 0.1%.

The indices of the groups: Alcoholic beverages, tobacco and Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, remained at the same level as in the previous month.
