Consumer Price Index by COICOP classification and Retail Price Index,

According to the State Statistical Office data, the Consumer Price Index and the Retail Price Index in September 2017, in comparison with the previous month, remained at the same level. The total Consumer Price Index and the Retail Price Index were at the same level compared to the previous month, but in September there were changes in individual groups. An increase in the Consumer Price Index in September 2017, in comparison with the previous month, was registered in fresh or chilled vegetables other than potatoes by 2.3%, milk by 1.5%, other meat preparations by 1.2%, dried, salted or smoked meat by 0.9%, edible offal and yoghurt by 0.7%, eggs by 0.6%, alcoholic beverages by 0.5%, other bakery products, sugar, jam, honey, chocolate and confectionary by 0.3% and non-alcoholic beverages by 0.2%. In September 2017, there was also an increase of the indices of gas for households by 4.1%, liquid fuels for households and liquid fuels and lubricants for personal transport equipment by 2.4%, information processing equipment by 1.9%, carpets and other floor coverings by 1.3%, solid fuels for households by 1.2%, small electric household appliances, photographic and cinematographic equipment and optical instruments by 1.1%, equipment for sports, camping and recreation in nature, veterinary and other services for pets by 1.0%, recording media by 0.8%, gardens, plants and flowers by 0.5%, major electric appliances for households, spare parts and accessories for personal transport equipment by 0.4%. A decrease in the Consumer Price Index in September 2017, in comparison with the previous month, was registered in dried fruit and nuts by 7.0%, other food products n.e.c by 1.2%, dried vegetables, other preserved or processed vegetables and potatoes by 1.1%, rice by 0.6%, flours and other cereals by 0.5%, fish and seafood, fresh or chilled fruit by 0.4%, cheese and curd by 0.2%. In September, there was also a decrease of the indices of hospital services by 9.1%, accommodation services by 4.6%, passenger transport by air by 3.1%, package holidays by 1.3%, articles for personal hygiene and wellness by 1.2%, tools and equipment for house and garden, personal care services by 0.9%, footwear by 0.5%, household furniture, stationary and drawing materials by 0.3%, clothing, repair of furniture, furnishings and floor coverings, jewellery, clocks and watches by 0.2%. The Consumer Price Index in September 2017, in comparison with September 2016, registered an increase by 1.7%, while the Retail Price Index increased by 4.1%.
