The Consumer Price Index, by Coicop classification, in January 2010 in comparison with December 2009, increased by 0.7%

According to the State Statistical Office data, the Consumer Price Index, measured by prices of goods and services for personal consumption, in January 2010, in comparison with December 2009, was 100.7, while in comparison with January 2009, it was 100.1.

Analyzed by main groups of intended use, in January 2010, compared to December 2009, an increase has been registered in the groups: Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels by 5.3%, Recreation and culture by 2.6%, Transport by 1.9%, Furnishings, household equipment and routine maintenance of the house by 0.8%, Clothing and footwear and Health by 0.4% and Miscellaneous goods and services by 0.2%.

A decrease of the Consumer Price Index was registered in the following groups: Communication by 2.7% and Food and non-alcoholic beverages by 0.4%.

The indices of the groups: Alcoholic beverages, tobacco, Education and Restaurants and hotels remained the same as in the previous month.
