Consumer Price Index by COICOP classification and Retail Price Index,

According to the State Statistical Office data, the Consumer Price Index in March 2017, in comparison with the previous month, was 100.5, while the Retail Price Index was 101.4. An increase in the Consumer Price Index in March 2017, in comparison with the previous month, was registered in fresh or chilled fruit by 7.3%, tobacco by 2.6%, non-alcoholic beverages by 0.8%, other bakery products by 0.7%, whole milk, dried fruit and nuts by 0.6%, dried vegetables, other preserved or processed vegetables by 0.5%, frozen fruit by 0.4%, flours and other cereals by 0.2%. In March 2017, there was also an increase of the indices of passenger transport by air by 24.2%, hospital services by 6.6%, cleaning, repair and hire of clothing by 6.2%, telephone and telefax services by 5.9%, veterinary and other services for pets for 4.4%, paramedical services by 4.3%, equipment for sport, camping and open-air recreation by 3.8%, package holidays by 2.5%, other services in respect of personal transport equipment by 1.9%, bicycles by 1.3%, domestic and household services and cultural services by 0.9%, dental services by 0.6%, liquid fuels for households by 0.5%, gas for households, small electric household appliances, liquid fuels and lubricants for personal transport equipment, information processing equipment, books and catering services by 0.4%, solid fuels for households, carpets and other floor coverings and household textiles by 0.3%, materials for maintenance and repair of the dwelling, household furniture, other medical products, services and articles for personal hygiene and wellness by 0.2%. A decrease in the Consumer Price Index in March 2017, in comparison with the previous month, was registered in fresh or chilled vegetables other than potatoes by 3.6%, other preserved or processed fish and seafood by 1.4%, rice and potatoes by 0.9%, yoghurt by 0.5%, cereals, fish and seafood by 0.3%, meat, cheese and curd, oils and fats, other food products and alcoholic beverages by 0.2%. In March, there was also a decrease of the indices of fixed telephone equipment by 4.5%, cleaning and maintenance products for the dwelling by 1.5%, clothing, photographic and cinematographic equipment and optical instruments and other services n.e.c. by 0.8%, glassware, tableware and household utensils by 0.6%, medicines by 0.5%, spare parts and accessories for personal transport equipment by 0.3% and footwear by 0.2%. The Consumer Price Index in March 2017, in comparison with March 2016, registered an increase by 0.6%, while the Retail Price Index increased by 2.5%.
