According to the State Statistical Office data, the Consumer Price Index in August 2014, in comparison with the previous month,
was 99.5, while the Retail Price Index was 99.7.
The decrease in the Consumer Price Index by 0.5% in August 2014, in comparison with the previous month, is a result of the
lower indices of dry fruit by 3.1%, fresh vegetables by 2.9%, pasta by 1.1%, preserved meat products by 0.5%, bread and cereals
by 0.3% and processed milk by 0.2%.
In August, there was also a decrease of the indices of central heating by 10.9%, solid fuels by 7.0%, gas for households by 2.9%,
liquid fuels and lubricants by 2.8%, accommodation services by 2.5%, medicines by 1.9%, footwear and household appliances by
1.1%, clothing by 0.7%, cleaning and maintenance products by 0.6%, personal care services and personal care articles by 0.4%,
furniture by 0.3% and information processing equipment by 0.2%.
An increase in the Consumer Price Index in August 2014, in comparison with the previous month, was registered in fresh fruit
by 2.5%, canned fish by 1.4%, fresh milk and fats by 0.8%, fish by 0.4%, cured meat products, canned vegetables and sugar, jam, honey, chocolates and confectionery by 0.3%, durable sausage products, canned fruit and alcoholic beverages by 0.2%.
In August, there was also an increase of the indices of passenger transport by air by 23.1%, telephone and telefax equipment by
4.5%, package holidays by 2.5%, recreation and culture services by 1.0%, outpatient services by 0.7% and telephone and telefax
services by 0.5%.
The Consumer Price Index in August 2014, in comparison with August 2013, registered a decrease by 0.5%, while the Retail Price
Index decreased by 0.8%.
