According to the State Statistical Office data, the Consumer Price Index in May 2021, in comparison with the previous month, was 100.7, while the Retail Price Index was 100.6.
An increase in the Consumer Price Index in May 2021, in comparison with the previous month, was registered in fresh or chilled vegetables other than potatoes and other tubers by 9.1%, fresh or chilled fruit by 4.1%, oils and fats by 2.1%, mineral waters, soft drinks, fruit and vegetable juices by 0.4% and meat by 0.3%.
In May, there was also an increase in the indices of liquid fuels for household by 12.4%, paramedical services by 5.5%, footwear by 3.3%, information processing equipment by 2.8%, fuels and lubricants for personal transport equipment by 1.6%, recording media by 0.8%, equipment for sport, camping and open-air recreation by 0.6%, medical services, dental services by 0.5%, materials for maintenance and repair of the dwelling, gardens, plants and flowers by 0.4%, hairdressing salons and personal grooming establishments by 0.3%, small tools and miscellaneous accessories, pharmaceutical products, other medical products n.e.c., passenger transport by road, jewellery, clocks and watches by 0.2%.
A decrease in the Consumer Price index in May 2021, in comparison with the previous month, was registered in sugar, jam, honey, chocolate and confectionery, food products n.e.c. by 0.3%.
In May, there was also a decrease of the indices of gas for household by 3.0%, motor cars by 1.5%, bicycles by 0.5%, photographic and cinematographic equipment and optical instruments by 0.4%, books by 0.3%.
The Consumer Price Index in May 2021, in comparison with May 2020, increased by 3.0%, while the Retail Price Index increased by 3.9%.
