According to the State Statistical Office data, the Retail Price Index in August 2012, in comparison with the previous month, was
101.7, while the Consumer Price Index was 101.5.
The increase in the Consumer Price Index by 1.5% is a result of the higher indices of vegetables by 5.4%, fats by 5.3%, meat,
processed fish and milk products by 0.7%, bread and pasta by 0.6%, other food products by 0.5%, processed vegetables by 0.4%,
fresh and sour milk by 0.2%.
In August, there was also an increase of the indices of electricity by 10.0%, liquid fuels and gas by 7.9%, oil derivatives by
7.6%, central heating by 4.1%, medicines by 1.9%, services of personal care by 0.6%, household appliances by 0.3%, furniture,
maintenance and repair of personal transport equipment and materials for maintenance of the dwelling by 0.2%.
A decrease in the Consumer Price Index in August 2012, in comparison with the previous month, was registered in fruit by 3.0%,
eggs by 1.7%, fish and alcoholic beverages by 0.2%.
In August, there was also a decrease of the indices of footwear by 0.5%, means of education by 0.4% and personal care articles
by 0.2%.
The Retail Price Index in August 2012, compared with August 2011, registered an increase by 3.6%, while the Consumer Price
Index increased by 3.7%.
