According to the State Statistical Office data, the Retail Price Index and the Consumer Price Index in February 2012, in comparison with the previous month, were 100.5.
The increase in the Consumer Price Index by 0.5% is a result of the higher indices of fruit by 4.0%, vegetables by 3.8%, processed fish by 1.9%, fats by 1.4%, processed vegetables by 1.1%, nonalcoholic beverages by 0.7%, fresh and sour milk and dairy products by 0.3%, confectionary products and other food products by 0.2%.
In February, there was also an increase of the indices of accommodation services by 19.9%, oil derivatives by 2.5%, garments of household by 2.2%, liquid fuels and gas by 1.9%, furniture by 0.9%, clothing by 0.8%, personal care articles, cosmetic products and services of personal care by 0.6%, household utensils and medicines by 0.2%.
A decrease in the Consumer Price Index in February 2012, in comparison with the previous month, was registered in fish by 0.9% and eggs by 0.6%.
In February, there was also a decrease of the indices of means of education by 1.1%, passenger transport by 1.0% and footwear by 0.5%.
The Retail Price Index in February 2012, compared with February 2011, registered an increase by 3.4%, while the Consumer Price Index increased by 2.9%.
