According to the State Statistical Office data, the Retail Price Index in December 2011, in comparison with the previous month, was 100.0, while the Consumer Price Index was 99.9.
The Retail Price Index in 2011, compared to 2010, increased by 4,0%, while the Consumer Price Index increased by 3,9%.
The movement of the Retail Price Index in 2011 was different by certain groups of products. An increase has been registered in the groups: Food industrial products by 6.1%, Non-food industrial products by 5.4%, Agricultural products by 5.0%, Services by 1.8% and Beverages by 0.7%.
The movement of the Consumer Price Index in 2011 was different by various groups of consumption, as well. An increase has been registered in the groups: Food by 6.4%, Flat (rent, water and other services) by 5.6%, Fuel and lighting by 4.8%, Transport and communication services by 3.1%, Hygiene and health by 2.9%, Restaurants and hotels by 1.6%, Clothing and footwear by 1.4%, Tobacco and beverages by 0.9% and Household furnishings by 0.1%.
A decrease of indices has been registered in the groups Culture and entertainment by 0.8% and Miscellaneous services n.e.c by 0.1%.
The Retail Price Index in December 2011, compared to December 2010, increased by 3.1%, while the Consumer Price Index increased by 2.8%.
The Retail Price Index in December 2011 remained at the same level as in the previous month.
A minimal increase of the index was registered in the group Non-food industrial products by 0.1%.
A decrease in the Retail Price Index has been registered in the groups: Agricultural products by 1.4% and Beverages by 0.4%.
The indices of the groups Food industrial products and Services remained at the same level as in the previous month.
As a result of the retail price movements, the decrease in the Consumer Price Index by 0.1% in December 2011, in comparison with the previous month, is a result of the lower indices of fruit by 9.2%, fats by 2.3%, alcoholic beverages by 0.3%, fish by 0.2%, cereal products, dairy products and nonalcoholic beverages by 0.1%.
In December, a decrease of the Consumer Price Index was also registered in education services by 1.6%, personal care articles by 1.0% and oil derivatives by 0.5%.
An increase in the Consumer Price Index in December 2011, in comparison with the previous month, was registered in vegetables by 1.9%, meat and eggs by 0.7%.
Also, an increase of the Consumer Price Index was registered in liquid fuels and gas for the households by 1.9%, means of education by 0.4%, footwear and food at restaurants and hotels by 0.2%.
