Retail Price Index and the Consumer Price Index, February 2011

According to the State Statistical Offce data, the Retail Price Index in February 2011, in comparison with the previous month, was
100.6, while the Consumer Price Index was 100.9.
The increase in the Consumer Price Index by 0.9% is a result of the higher indices of vegetables by 13.4%, cereal products and
fruit by 2.5%, other food products by 1.7%, fresh and sour milk, eggs and fats by 1.3%, processed vegetables and processed fsh
by 1.0%, processed fruit by 0.9%, alcoholic beverages by 0.7%, meat and fsh by 0.6% and non-alcoholic beverages by 0.2%.
In February, there was also an increase of the indices of other dwelling services by 2.5%, materials for maintenance of the dwelling
by 1.2%, liquid fuels and gas by 0.9%, medicines by 0.8%, beverages in restaurants and hotels by 0.6%, personal care articles by
0.4%, food in restaurants and hotels by 0.3%, clothing and oil derivatives by 0.2%.
A decrease in the Consumer Price Index in February 2011, in comparison with the previous month, was registered in dairy
products by 0.4% and processed meat by 0.2%.
In February, there was also a decrease of the indices of vehicle maintenance by 2.7%, accommodation services by 2.3%, household
utensils by 1.8%, education services by 1.0%, footwear by 0.7%, means of education by 0.5% and furniture by 0.4%.
The index of the group Miscellaneous goods and services n.e.c remained at the same level as in the previous month.
The Retail Price Index in February 2011, compared with February 2010, registered an increase by 3.8%, while the Consumer Price
Index increased by 3.9%.
