The Retail Price Index in January 2010, compared with December 2009,
increased by 1.2%, while the Consumer Price Index increased by 0.7%

According to the State Statistical Office data, the Retail Price Index in January 2010, in comparison with the previous month,
was 101.2, while the Consumer Price Index was 100.7.
The increase in Consumer Price Index by 0.7% is a result of the higher indices of package holidays by 11.6%, electricity by
10.0%, transport equipment by 4.2%, central heating by 2.7%, administrative services by 2.6%, education services by 2.3%,
household utensils by 2.2%, personal care articles by 1.9%, naphtha and gas for households by 1.6%, oil derivatives by 1.2%,
health services by 0.9%, financial services by 0.7% and clothing by 0.5%.
In January, there was also an increase of the indices of processed meat by 1.6%, dairy products by 1.1%, processed fruit by
1.0% and processed vegetable by 0.5%.
A decrease in the Consumer Price Index in January 2010, in comparison with the previous month, is registered in fish by 5.3%,
vegetable by 4.3%, eggs by 1.5%, fruit by 1.0% and cereal products by 0.8%.
In January, there was also a decrease of the indices of postal and telecommunication services by 2.8%, services for household
maintenance by 0.5% and vehicles maintenance by 0.3%.
The Retail Price Index in January 2010, compared with January 2009, registered an increase by 1.7%, while the Consumer
Price Index increased by 0.1%.The value of the consumer basket for food and beverages for a four-member household in
January 2010, calculated on the basis of retail prices, is 12 151 denars, and in comparison with the previous month it is higher
by 0.2%.
