Gross Domestic Product, first quarter of 2010

According to the estimated data, the growth rate of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the first quarter of 2010 was -0.9%.

The value of Household final consumption, including Non-profit institutions serving households, increased by 2.4% in nominal terms in the first quarter of 2010, compared to the same period of 2009, and its share in the GDP structure was 79.7%. In the same period, Export of goods and services increased by 15.2% in nominal terms.

In this quarter, an increase was registered in the following sectors: A and B - Agriculture, hunting, forestry and Fishing; L, M and N - Public administration and defence, compulsory social security, Education, Health and social work; J, K and O - Financial intermediation, Real estate, renting and business activities, Other community, social and personal service activities and Imputed rents, and the biggest increase was registered in the sector F - Construction 7.7%.

Quarterly data for 2007 and 2008 were revised due to the revised data at annual level, as a result of the allocation of a part of financial intermediation services indirectly measured, in intermediate consumption and a part in Household final consumption. Methodological improvements in 2007 and 2008 were also made to the calculation of imputed rents.
